Some of modern books were named by Daxi(great series), and most academic thought the word Daxi(大系great series)began in The Studies of the Great Series of the Chinese New Literature (《中国新文学大系》) published in 1935.In fact, the origin of the word is from Japanese, and it was created by Taguchi Teiken (Ukichi) in the Meiji period, which literally means a great line. Guo Moruo was the first academic who introduced great series to Chinese, and The Studies of the Great Series of Bronzes Inscriptions of East and West Zhou Periods (《两周金文辞大系》)is the first Chinese work named by great series. The great series cited as documentary evidence of Encyclopedic Dictionary of Chinese words(汉语大词典) should be modified accordingly.
