《左传》“天诱其衷”新释

摘要《左传》中出现的“天诱其衷”一语中， “诱”有“致”义， “其”指代天， “衷”
在古本中当作“中”，指“心”。“天诱其衷”即“天送诣天心”，可意译为“天降心意”。“以
诱天衷”指的是“以招致天心”。“天诱其衷”与《国语·吴语》中“天舍其衷”“降天衷”
的含义完全一致。

Abstract: In the word tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) in Zuo zhuan (《左传》), you ( 诱 ) has the meaning
of zhi ( 致 ), while qi ( 其 )refers to tian ( 天 )and zhong ( 衷 )should be written as zhong ( 中 )with
the meaning of heart in ancient books. Tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) means the supreme God sends
his heart, which means the supreme God sends his message. Yi you qi zhong ( 以诱其衷 ) means to
induce the supreme God. The meaning of tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) is completely consistent with
the meaning of tian she qi zhong ( 天舍其衷 ) and jiang tian zhong ( 降其衷 ) in the Discourses of the
States, Discourses of Wu. (《国语 · 吴语》)
