Discussion and Interpretation on the Use of Different Written Forms of Tree( 树 ) and Their Periodization Values in Unearthed Documents

Abstract  
    The commonly used word tree ( 树 ) in Chinese language had appeared in Oracle Bone Inscriptions in the Shang Dynasty, with its written forms replaced several times throughout the history. 权 was used to record tree in the Shang Dynasty; the written forms in the period of the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States display distinctive regional characteristics: ?? , usually used in Qin culture writing system, 梪 adopted in Chu culture writing system, while favored by Qi and Jin culture writing systems. It is after the unification of Qin that 樹 has been used to record tree ( 树 ), and the policy of Unified Writing issued by the first emperor of Qin exerted great influence on the evolution of the written forms of tree ( 树 ).The diachronic replacement of different written forms of tree ( 树 ) has been promoted by the synthesization of many factors. And the studies on the differences of these written forms have significant value for researching the sources, the process of disseminating and coping, and the periodization of the texts of unearthed documents.
