| A New Interpretation on Tian You Qi Zhong (天诱其衷) in Zuo Zhuan ( 《左传》) |

Abstract In the word tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) in Zuo zhuan (《左传》), you ( 诱 ) has the meaning
of zhi ( 致 ), while qi ( 其 )refers to tian ( 天 )and zhong ( 衷 )should be written as zhong ( 中 )with
the meaning of heart in ancient books. Tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) means the supreme God sends
his heart, which means the supreme God sends his message. Yi you qi zhong ( 以 诱 其 衷 ) means to
induce the supreme God. The meaning of tian you qi zhong ( 天诱其衷 ) is completely consistent with
the meaning of tian she qi zhong ( 天舍其衷 ) and jiang tian zhong ( 降其衷 ) in the Discourses of the
States, Discourses of Wu. (《国语 · 吴语》)
